What is MAF?
MAF which stands for Mutasa Auction Floor is your link to the products of thousands of farmers but with the advantages of dealing with one supplier.The core operating mechanism is an on-line ‘descending price system’ more popularly known as the ‘Dutch Clock Auction’ and has been used for many years to auction flowers in the Netherlands.
Buyers can view sale lots on-line, and when the Auction starts, bid in real-time for the lot on offer.The first bid secures the lot and it is expected that each lot will take 1 minute to conclude.
Objectives

Resolve the ‘disconnect’ primarily between Smallholder Farmers & the Markets.

Initiate the bulking of smallholder outputs in central rural locations to facilitate viable quantities for the Market Buyers & ease transport logistics.

Install a cost efficient, fair & transparent system to manage many small transactions in a timely manner.

Allow Buyers to procure products from their workplaces & not be required to travel physically to auction sites.

Help Farmers advertise what they have for sale a number of days in advance.
